Lenovo S890
The Good:Lenovo’s S890 is its latest Android Smartphone that performs well and offers a great level of customization. In built with the regular hardware specifications, the features that the company has included in the device makes it stand out from the rest. The magic flip cover and battery life are the stand out features of this device.
The Bad:The phone is attractive but not flawless and the absence of full HD video recording feature is a big turn off. In terms of price, it is quite expensive when comparing with its rival Samsung Galaxy Grand.
Design:The Lenovo S890 is a beautifully designed device with its glossy white finish and metal trimmings on the sides with a stunning and classy look. The magic flip cover in the back enables the auto display turn on and off feature for the Lenovo S890.
Processor and Operating system:The device is powered by MediaTek 6577T chipset that includes a 1.2 GHz dual core processor along with a PowerVR SGX 544 GPU and runs on the latest version of Android Jelly Bean; Project Butter.
Screen:The display of the phone is based on IPS technology which offers better contrast and brightness levels. It is made of 5-inch with a resolution of 540*960 pixels. The Lenovo S890 features a slim side bezel design that makes the device look even better, plus compared to other 5 inch display based devices it feels smaller and more comfortable.
Camera:The Lenovo S8990 is equipped with 8MP camera with LED flash for extra illumination. Besides, it has great autofocus and captures images with great sharpness. The image quality of the camera is good both in outdoor and indoor modes. In terms of video recording, the device captures 720p HD video at 30 frames per second. It also features a 0.3 megapixel front facing camera that is good for video calling.
Storage and Connectivity:The phone also features 1 GB of RAM and 4 GB of internal storage or ROM memory, which works well with the dual core processor and enhances the user experience. The internal storage can be further expanded to another 32GB via microSD cards. The dual-SIM phone supports tri-band GSM and 3G. Other connectivity features include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and USB.
Battery Life:The device comes with a 2250mAh battery and the device is known for its battery backup. With usual gaming, audio-video use and web browsing over both 3G and Wi-Fi, the device usually lasts for two days between full recharges. The power save feature works brilliantly and for light users the device will definitely just refuse to die.
Price and availability:The phone is priced around Rs. 16, 099 to Rs.17, 199 and available in all the major cities in India as well as online stores.
Wrap-up:Even though the Smartphone impress us on some fronts, it disappoints on a few things. The phone is attractive but not flawless and the absence of full HD video recording feature is a big turn off. Overall, the Lenovo S890 performs well and offers a great level of customization
