Amendment Fee

There are many names to this like-handling fee, administration charge, documentation charge, and perhaps more. No matter what it's called, this charge (applicable on any change in the itinerary or for refunding a confirmed purchase) is rapidly being imposed on customers. This is in count with the regular cancellation charges, as mentioned by the airline, tour operator or cruise liner in question.

An alternating name can be 'increased paperwork' fee, which you have already paid to book your travel in the first place. Proyatra, Delhi-based travel Services Company, is open about charging an additional administration fee of 250 per booking for any alteration, changes or cancellations. Yatra.com, in contrast, charges 250 per person per section as normal cancellation charge in addition to the airline's cancellation penalty, and also imposes a fee of 300-500 per person for any offline cancellations.
