3. DSQ Software Scam

Dinesh Dalmia, Managing Director of DSQ Software, was held resposible in the Calcutta Stock Exchange (CSE) share scam. CSE lodged a FIR against Dalmiya for alleged siphoning of funds through issue of fake shares between March and April 2001. “Around 10 lakh fake shares were issued. The value of those shares was close to 20 crore at price of 180-200 per share, the market price then,” a CSE souce said, as quoted by Business Standard. The source also added, “According to CBI the alleged fraud perpetrated to DSQ was to the tune of 630 crore, but Kolkata Police has brought him here in a separate case.” CBI later arrested Dalmia.
