5. Karnataka

252,620 crore ($46 billion)

Karnataka, the largest IT hub in India stands on the fifth rank of this list. Over the last decade, Karnataka has recorded the highest GDP and per capita growth among the other Indian states.

A major portion of Karnataka’s revenue comes from the IT industries, located mostly in different parts of Bangalore. Agriculture also plays a major role in this revenue.

6. Gujarat

179,578 crore ($33 billion)

Gujarat can be called as the industry capital of today’s India. It is the home to some of the legendary industries which are equivalently iconic in India as well as across the globe.

In the year 2010, Forbes has named Ahmedabad as the third fastest growing cities in the world.

7. West Bengal

169,910 crore ($31 billion)

The fourth most populous Indian state West Bengal is also one of leading contributor of India’s total revenue. Between the periods of 2009-10, West Bengal had the sixth largest economy in terms of NSDP. Its total NSDP was estimated to be  366,318 crore.
