Paytm Unveils Ad Campaign to Promote Core Payment Solutions
One97 Communications Limited (OCL), the parent company of Paytm, a leading payments and financial services platform, has unveiled a new advertising campaign aimed at enhancing user engagement by highlighting the reliability of its payment products and user experience. The campaign underscores key services such as UPI money transfers, Scan and Pay, the pioneering Paytm Soundbox, Paytm UPI Lite wallet, Credit Card on UPI, and a variety of recharges and bill payment options available on the Paytm app.
These initiatives reflect Paytm's strategic focus areas as the company charts its path to recovery. Notably, UPI transactions, which previously accounted for 70% of Paytm’s payment Gross Merchandise Value (GMV), now drive 80-85% of the GMV, illustrating the growing reliance on this payment method.
A Paytm spokesperson emphasized the company's commitment to fostering growth in the upcoming fiscal year, FY25. "We are more dedicated than ever to integrating more Indians into the mainstream economy. We aim to expand our payment infrastructure, including UPI, payment QR codes, and the Soundbox, across every corner of the country", the spokesperson stated. The campaign slogan, "Every time India plans its future, Paytm will be at the center of it. As you move forward in life, Paytm will always be by your side", encapsulates this vision.
As part of its FY24 results announcement, Paytm reaffirmed its dedication to its core payments business, noting signs of recovery in its payment GMV and subscription merchants. The company anticipates showcasing significant improvements in key metrics starting from the second quarter (Q2) of FY2025 and aims to increase its market share in the payments sector.
Paytm has been a trailblazer in the digital payments industry, introducing innovations like the 'Made-in-India' Paytm Soundbox and QR codes. The new ad campaign comprises a series of films focusing on different aspects of Paytm’s core services.
The first film highlights UPI Money Transfer, demonstrating the ease of sending money via UPI on the Paytm app. As a Third-Party Application Provider (TPAP) with the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), Paytm has partnered with major banks like Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, State Bank of India (SBI), and YES Bank to ensure seamless UPI transactions.
The second film showcases the Scan and Pay feature, enabling users to make instant payments by scanning any QR code with the Paytm app. The third film promotes the Paytm Soundbox, which provides merchants with secure and immediate payment confirmations.
The fourth film introduces the Paytm UPI Lite wallet, designed for low-value everyday payments. This feature helps keep bank statements clutter-free and allows users to add up to Rs 4,000 daily. The fifth film unveils the Rupay Credit Card on UPI, allowing users to link their credit cards to UPI and pay at merchant stores by scanning QR codes, thus eliminating the need to carry physical credit cards.
The ad campaign's tagline, "Jab bhi India future ka plan banaega, humein uske beecho beech paayega, aage bhi Paytm aapka yuhi saath nibhayega", reinforces Paytm’s promise to be a steadfast partner for Indians during significant milestones. These films will be broadcast across various media channels, including television, digital platforms, and social media, to reach a broad audience and reinforce Paytm’s presence in everyday financial transactions.
