Fixed deposits might guarantee a fixed amount of income but its inflexible nature can be restrictive. Fixed deposits do not provide very high returns, when compared to stocks or mutual funds. Their benefits also cannot be reaped to the fullest if they are broken before their maturity. Moreover, fixed deposits don’t offer protection against inflation.
