5. What Can Cause You to Pay Higher Premiums
If the couple is having children of driving age, adding them to the existing policy may higher the premium rates. This is partly because drivers under 25 are prone to higher insurance premiums whether they have individual policies or are listed on the policies of their parents. If the married couple is below 25 years of age themselves, they will incur higher premium rates as they already belong to the highest risk group despite of the benefits they are likely to get due to being married.

Various companies provide different discount policies based on income, assets and liabilities etc. Similarly for married couples different companies have different policies. It is always preferable to go through all the rates and discount policies provided by the Insurance companies and check which company is providing the best insurance cover at a reasonable price.
