Vasant Gajera, the elder brother of Ashok Gajera started the business 40 years ago. Ashok joined his brother in 1986,while his brother sits in surat and takes care of all the things that are taking place in the factory, where as Ashok stays in Mumbai and takes care if all the sales and marketing.

Today, the company has got much deeper into the manufacturing of diamonds and is known as one of the best in the industry. Laxmi Diamond is responsible for importing rough diamonds and export polished diamonds to U.S., Far East, Europe, the Middle East and South East Asia. The company also gets regular supplies from some of the well known mining companies like Rio Tinto, BHP and Diavik Diamond Mines.

One of the most famous diamond cutters Sir Gabi Tolkowsky, is a creative training consultant at Laxmi Diamond, who is constantly training the skills of their workers.
