Highest Paid Hedge Fund Managers
4. Kenneth C. Griffin
Earned: $700 Million
Assets Under Management: $11 Billion
Griffin is the CEO and founder of Citadel LLC, a global financial institution. A major chunk of Citadel’s $11 billion assets were garnered from multi-strategy funds of Citadel – Wellington and Kensington Global Strategies. The net profit from these 2 funds accounted for more than 20 percent in the year 2011. These gains helped Citadel make up for a loss of 55 percent during the year 2008. Since these funds have reached their highest peak in value, the firm can go for charging performance fee again from investors. Though both the funds have performed exceptionally well across all categories, they have performed really well in equities, convertibles and energy. Moreover, Citadel gained 21 percent in stock value in 2011.
