8) Actors, Singers and Other Performers

All artists, singers and actors will have to pay service tax from now onwards. Artists who perform in folk or classical music, dance or theatre, are exempted from this charge. Which means even the actor acting in commercial movies will have end up paying this service tax. Similarly artists who are indulged in western music or dance, modern theatres and TV serials will have to pay this service tax of 12 percent.  

9) Attending Conferences/Seminars

The participation and organizing fees of conferences and seminars will be now subjected to service tax, which means that attending such seminars, conferences, workshops, sports and cultural events will now become more expensive. This also includes the foreign education institutions.

10) Personalized Services, Fashion Designers

Getting designer clothes was almost an expensive issue for aam janata, but now it will be more costly as getting a new wardrobe, especially designer clothes and accessories will be subjected to service tax that is at the rate of 12 percent. This also includes the services provided by marriage bureaus, numerologists, astrologers.
