SBI Cards Embarks on Initiatives to Create New Standards


New Delhi: Credit card issuer SBI Cards and Payment Services today said it has embarked on a series of steps, including offering 14 different modes of payment options to customers, as part of its initiatives to create new standards in the credit card industry. "Multiple initiatives underline our commitment to keep delivering and surpassing the expectations of our discerning customers," SBI Cards Chief Executive Officer Kadambi Narahari said. SBI Cards is a joint venture between State Bank of India and GE Capital Corporation. The company has launched the 14 payment options, which offer 14 different modes of payment options to customers. This includes SBI account holders who can direct their remittances through onlinesbi.com, National Electronic Fund Transfer (NEFT) and over-the-counter (OTC) at SBI branches. The company also said that it is one of the first few firms to have migrated to the Europay, MasterCard and Visa (EMV) platform which offers unmatched additional security and convenience to customers. SBI Card has also launched Insta-Card for making immediate spends and enabling payment over an extended time period through monthly installments. It also has a rewards programme including the option to redeem reward points against card outstanding.
