Ashley Qualls started a hobby website called WhateverLife.com, at the age of 14. This site provides free MySpace templates and HTML tutorials to young people. Her basement became her workplace. She not only employed her mom but also some of her school friends. In less than two years the site had an average earning of $70,000 per month. This revenue was entirely earned from advertisements.

This site receives multiple times more traffic than circulations for popular teen magazines like Seventeen, Teen Vogue and CosmoGirl. She turned down numerous acquisition offers for her website, including an offer of 1.5 million and a car of her own choice.
