United Spirits or United Breweries Group (UB Group) is a conglomerate of various companies and focuses on beer and other alcoholic drinks. Dr. Vijay Mallya is the Chairman and A K Ravi Nedungadi is the CFO and President of UB Group. It has about 2,500 employees.

FIIs bought 263,695,571 shares of UB Group in December, 2011, 240,048,255 shares in December 2010 and 240,048,255 shares in December, 2009. Though the growth in FIIs has not been uniform in the last 3 years but has increased from 2009 to 2011.

UB Group’s net profit declined by 62 percent to Rs47.06 crore in Q3 of 2011 from 123 crore in the same quarter in 2010. Its total income decreased from 1,969.40 crore in 2010 to 1,967.34 in December quarter of 2011.
