He founded the Microsoft Software Company with Paul Allen. He has a consistent ranking among the world's wealthiest people. He was the wealthiest in the world overall from 1995 to 2009. Gates is the best-known entrepreneurs of the personal computer revolution though he has been criticized for his business procedures, which have been considered as anti-competitive.
In 1987, Gates was declared a billionaire in the pages of Forbes' 400 Richest People in America issue. As the world's youngest self-made billionaire, he has a worth of $1.25 billion. This amount is $900 million more than the wealth which he has when he debuted on the list. In 2011, Gates was ranked as the 5th most powerful person in the world by Forbes magazine.
