Zuckerberg, Gates, Urge Schools To Teach Coding

The Partovi family was migrated from Iran in 1984 to U.S. where after going through initial hardship they finally made it big. Hadi Partovi says the arc of his own successful rise in the tech world was shaped by an early interest in computers and a formal education in writing software, or coding, which enabled that spark to flourish into a career.

"Learning how to program didn't start off with wanting to learn all of computer science or trying to master this discipline or anything like that," Zuckerberg says. "It started off because I wanted to do this one simple thing -- I wanted to make something that was fun for myself and my sisters."

Gates said, "I was 13 when I first got access to a computer. I wrote a program to play tick-tack-toe."
