Bangalore: PCs are experiencing a slow painful death with the ongoing market trend that favors Tablets and Smartphones. Horace Dediu, an industry analyst published a graph which shows the variations in sales of PC, Android and iOS devices from the time of their birth.

The graph shows the slow deterioration in PC sales through years and it is expected to reach the peak within a short time.  Both iOS and Android devices are witnessing a steady upward growth while Macs are gaining a slight momentum in sales.

Most readers are of the opinion that a comparison of PC’s with iPhones or Androids is not appropriate. According to a reader, “why compare iPhones to PC's anyway? Have people started using iPhones instead of Windows PC's at their desks? No. And they won't anytime soon.”

The sales figure for PCs was very low in the last quarter of 2011. But with the launch of “Ultrabooks”, the sleek laptops, by almost all manufacturers, PC markets are expecting a boost in second quarter this year.
