BANGALORE: EasyLink India, a transaction delivery and messaging service providers for businesses, on Wednesday launched MailWatch, a virus protection, spam control and content filtering service in India. MailWatch provides an additional out-of-network layer of protection that prevents known e-mail borne viruses before they reach the network besides scanning for malicious code, which may be an unrecognised virus. Madhukar Murthi, regional director, Easylink India, said, "The majority of Indian companies still rely on network-based virus protection and its frequent updates. Very few have built additional out-of-network layer of protection that MailWatch provides, which is proven to sharply reduce the susceptibility of customers to email borne viruses." MailWatch, Spam Control and content filtering service use anti-virus technology to detect over 63,000 known viruses and their variants. MailWatch effectively detects e-mail messages and attachments with embedded viruses and stops them from entering enterprise networks. In addition to virus protection, MailWatch's spam control blocks unsolicited e-mail and its content-filtering feature protects users against unwanted or offensive e-mail messages and also acts as a tool for a company to implement its email policy. MailWatch service is sold and supported internationally in countries like US, UK, Brazil, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, India and the United Arab Emirates among others.
