New York: Apple and News Corp. is finally ready to launch its most awaited 'The Daily', the digital publication for tablet devices in New York on February 2 which will cost $1 per week. The Daily was supposed to launch on January 19. Rupert Murdoch, the CEO of News Corp revealed that The Daily will only be seen on tablets and they will employ only journalist and eight to ten technicians. He has also suggested that the iPad needs 800,000 readers to achieve their goal and he is expecting that by next year there will be 30-40 Million iPads and every single person and even children will have one. A survey done on iPad users informs that the 84.4 percent of users use their iPad to follow breaking news and current events. 70 percent rely on their iPad as their news source. These resources are encouraging enough for the iPad publishers. But at the same time it shows the downside of publishing the iPad as it may diminish the newspaper script subscription in 2011.
