World's 10 Richest Sporting Events



FedEx Cup:
The FedExCup is the seventh richest sporting event. It is prized at $10 million.  FedEx Cup is a championship trophy for the PGA Tour. The competition is sponsored by FedEx and its opening marked the first time that men's professional golf had a playoff system. Brandt Snedeker is the present champion.

World Series of Poker:
The World Series of Poker (WSOP) is a series of poker tournaments held annually in Las Vegas and is sponsored by Caesars Entertainment. It is $8.5 million event. Over the years, the tournament has grown in both the number of events and in the number of contestants. Every year, the WSOP concludes with the $10,000 no-limit hold'em "Main Event". The winner gets a multi-million dollar cash prize and a bracelet, which has become the most popular award for a poker player and the winner of the World Series of Poker Main Event is considered to be the World Champion of Poker. Greg Merson, a 25-year-old college dropout, won this year’s main event.
