Cloud computing system has its own pros and cons and putting all business data onto cloud which is hosted on the internet comes with a stack of security exploits, cloud trend has been hyped quite a lot on the ground providing cheaper services and diminishing IT costs but migrating to cloud would also cost businesses a great deal on the security front.
Increased governmental control:
The Governments all over are trying to keep a track of cyber threats and are taking measures to reduce cyber crime. Control systems such as content control, censorship, SOPA bill, Protect IP act etc indicate how government is moving to gain increased control over the Internet and global communications. But the point here is that these control systems which the government uses to monitor and manage infrastructure within industrial and government bodies have become a hub of targeted attacks. As per the article the fear here is that activists and hackers may start turning towards attacking government infrastructure to gain more control over key resources. Some of the acts introduced by the government is eventually leading to end of an open internet system which in turn will have dire consequences of more darknets emerging.
