Bangalore: Preet Bharara, an Indian American has made it to the front cover of the magazine ‘Times of India’. It’s the first time the magazine is carrying the photo of an Indian American on its front page with a story about his movement against corruption and irregularities in Wall Street Magazine.

The article comes with the title 'This Man Is Busting Wall Street’ and under the title it is proclaimed "Prosecutor Preet Bharara collars the masters of the meltdown,". The article speaks about the "man who is bringing mob squad justice to Wall Street" and also questions some of the methods used by Bharara, like wire tapping and doubts whether it will be permitted in court.

Bharara explains that when he came to the job in 2009, he noticed "there was a creeping culture of corruption in our politics and also in Wall Street and in business generally", a complaint repeated by the U.S. President.

Insider trading was a practice which "tells everybody at precisely the wrong time that everything is rigged and only people who have a billion dollars and have access to and are best friends with people who are on boards of directors of major companies, they're the only ones who can make a true buck’’, says Bharara.

Bharara holds a high position in U.S. law enforcement, as the Attorney of New York. He manages hundreds of cases, both civil and criminal which involves international terrorism, fiscal fraud, corruption, insider trading, gang violence etc.

In the year 2009, Bharara was nominated by Obama to the prestigious post of U.S. Attorney for the Southern district of New York and he took charge of the post after two months. He is responsible for a major attack on the illicit insider trading at Wall Street.

Bharara who was born in Punjab grew up in Monmouth Country of New Jersey. He completed his graduation in the year 1990, from Harvard University.
