Twitter is the Latest to Join Linux Foundation

Twitter said that, they are joining the society to promote, protect and ultimately, aim at the growth of Linux. The company works with the help of tens and thousands of Linux servers, which assists them to tweak and customize their services according to the user needs.

Two more services, Inktank and Servergy have joined the foundation. Inktank is an open-source, distributed storage system that combines object storage, block storage and file system storage in one unified platform. The main aim of Inktank is to reduce the operational cost, infrastructural cost and also to increase the efficiency and flexibility of storage systems.

Bryan Bogensberger, president and chief operating officer of Inktank, exclaimed that “As the project’s advocate and sponsor, Inktank is formalizing its commitment to Linux with its Linux Foundation membership. We are eager to collaborate with developers and business executives from the world’s most aggressive companies to meet their growing storage needs today and into the future.”

Servergy is the proud designer of IBM Power Architecture-based, enterprise-class Linux machines that reduce the energy, cooling, space, and carbon and water footprint of traditional data center servers. Servergy mainly develops high performance and highly efficient data servers, mainly designed to decrease the overall data and productivity costs.
