Twitter and Facebook Building Their own Search Engines

The saga of Facebook and Google rivalry

The two tech giants have been crossing each other’s paths since a long time and have been pretty frequent at that. When Google had announced the war with the launch of Google plus a less famous social networking platform by the search engine pros, Facebook never sat quiet and has been constantly building its force to enter the waters of search engine. The conscious Google has since then been reconsidering its internet dominance and has been working towards empowering it with intelligent algorithms and excellent search accessories.

Though the technique and algorithms imposed in Google search seem to be too far from the social networking site’s reach, Facebook can actually switch into its combat mode with rich user database and immense popularity. “Let’s think about what Facebook does well for a minute. Not only is it the most popular social network in history, but it’s literally everywhere on the Web. Nearly every website I go to has the option to log into Facebook to comment or like an article right on the site itself. The social networking behemoth would be able to compile all of your social data–what you “Like,” where you check in, who your friends are and more–and use this within its own private Facebook search engine,” says Michael Hoffmann from TMprod.
