These Places Are Most Vulnerable To Climate Change

Tangintebu, Kiribati: Located in Tarawa, Gilbert Islands, Kiribati Tangintebu Village is a least populated place with a population of just around 90 habitants. The estimate terrain elevation of this island above sea level is 11 metres.

This island is one of the endangered places extremely affected by the climate change. The residents face rising sea levels, reduced access to safe water, and changing weather patterns in part due to climate change. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change states that climate change would likely "seriously compromise" freshwater resources, particularly in Kiribati, where less than half of the population has access to safe water. A UN report found that if sea-levels were to rise two meters, as some recent estimates have projected, Kiribati would "become uninhabitable" by 2100.

Telegraph, Grenada: The coastal fishing village, Telegraph is located at the eastern edge of Grenada that sits under a couple of feet of murky saltwater. The people residing along this vulnerable stretch of Grenada have been witnessing the sea taking away their shoreline in recent decades. This is a result of destructive practices like the extraction of sand for construction and ferocious storm surges made worse by climate change, according to researchers with the U.S.-based Nature Conservancy. Dozens of families are now thinking about relocating to new places built on a hillside about a 10-minute walk from their source of livelihood. If climate change impact predictions come true, scientists and a growing number of government officials worry that this fishing village of Grenada could extinct after some years.
