The Japanese company was awarded 1,533 patents just last year, in the U.S., which is not surprising considering the amount of work the company is putting into its R&D department. Every year, the company gains about 100 more patents than the previous year, and the company has kept this trend going over the last 5 years.
7. Sony:
Sony, the consumer electronics company, bagged 2,286 patents at the U.S. Patent Office last year. The company’s rivals, Samsung and Apple are doing considerably well against this giant company, but it continues to steadily increase its patent portfolio.
