In 1975, before graduation Gates left Harvard to form Microsoft with his childhood friend Paul Allen. It became famous for their computer operating systems and killer business deals. In 1983 Microsoft formally announced Microsoft Windows, a next-generation operating system which runs more than 80% computers all over the world.

Smith is the founder and chief executive of FedEx, a global courier delivery service headquartered in Memphis, Tennessee.

Before FedEx, the best way to ship a package cross-country was by train or automobile. The Federal Express founder made overnight express delivery possible with his innovative package processing system in the early 70s.
