DeLuca is the founder of Subway, which is one of the largest privately held businesses in the world.

Before starting Subway, he worked at a low wage paying job at a hardware store, trying to raise money to pay for college to study in the field of medicine. After succeeding in his business, DeLuca continued his dream to go to college and graduated from the University of Bridgeport.
