Iron Man:
Iron Man was hardly a household name prior to the movie. It changed overnight when the movie was released with Robert Downey Jr. in the lead. Stunning special effects, hero embarking on a journey of self-discovery and a villain to stand in his way, damsel in distress and the best friend - the movie had all the elements for a comic book movie success.
But Robert Downey Jr. took the crown for being the best element of the movie making all the tried and tested formula look fresh and new. He owned the role of Stark. His charm, energy and quirky humor, being flawed and self-absorbed - women loved it all, just as much as they loved his superhero alter ego.
