Most of the IT staff report that one tablet feature that excites them the most is that there are no moving parts onboard. Tablets are customized one piece device that are reasonably durable compared to the current devices used today. Moreover, these compact devices have no moving hard drives, no hinges or latches that can be broken when used.
Kendrick says that most of the IT professional express their disconcern over mechanical parts of products, be it laptop or desktop. They say that if there is a mechanical part attached that must be used daily, a fair number of the devices will fail in the field. Whether it is the laptop screen hinge that stops opening or closing properly, or the hard drive that refuses to spin anymore, some percentage of them certainly fail.
