Swabhimaan

This was an afternoon soap opera directed by Mahesh Bhatt and scripted by Shobha De. Swabhimaan has taken the viewers to the realm of complex relations, infidelity, property and power entanglements. The TV show took the cup for the first Indian serial to cross the 500 episode mark.  The show had an end with most of the villains being jailed or killed.

Zee Horror Show

Presented by Ramsay Brothers and broadcasted on Zee TV the show became the most popularly viewed series of the 90’s. It narrated short stories in small episodes and each one was a mix of horror and suspense. Zee Horror Show was based on dowry system and the social convergence of the series added to its popularity. The series was re telecasted on public demand due to its great fame.

Meri Awaz Suno

Ongoing music reality shows like Indian Idol, Voice of India, and India’s Got Talent, Meri Awaz Suno was also a talent hunt for singers on Doordarsan. This was the show that brought out the gifted singer Sunidhi Chauhan into the main stage. Meri Awaz Suno was hosted by Annu Kapoor and judged by Lata Mangeshkar .
