3. Risk has increased

With the slowdown of the business in the IT industry, the risk of losing jobs has also increased and has gradually become a nightmare for the professionals.

When the IT companies ran out of active projects, they normally keep the employees on the ‘bench’. The bench period varies from company to company and the maximum duration of the bench period used to be six months (approx). But, with the decrease in the number of projects, the bench period has got reduced to a maximum duration of two months.

4. Decrease in the Pay-hikes

With the decrease in the IT business, the companies are bearing heavy losses in the market. This in turn is affecting the employees’ big time.

There was a time, when the IT companies were offering more than 30-40 percent annual hike to their employees. But with the slowdown in the business, the annual hike has reduced to 10-15 percent.

To manage life, with the present hikes, the IT professionals has brought sown their expense limit to a greater extent.
