#4 Ubuntu on Smartphones:
There were continuous back end talks on the idea of bringing Ubuntu to the world of Android. And by the year 2013, researchers really believe that this idea finally will see light. There are companies who are willing to accept this ground breaking project, but the only problem that stands between the companies and the project are the funds and the much needed support.
#5 Demise of a major distribution:
This is may not be a great prediction, but it may happen. For a while one of the Linux distributions is on its death bed due to its bad perception and out casted implementation. Mandriva Linux is on its way to extinction as its successor, Mageia has been gaining momentum. But the good news for Linux in the loss of Mandriva is that it means nothing to the overall structure of Linux.
