Fuel price hike:

Mamata was later seen fuming at the hike in fuel prices in November last year. She was quoted saying “We will not compromise on the price rise issue which is hitting the common man most. Our battle will go on.” She had called for an emergency meeting of the Trinamool Congress parliamentary party back then as well, in order to decide whether to continue in the Congress-led UPA Cabinet. Mamata wanted the government to roll back the petrol price hike and according to her party colleague and Union minister Sudip Bandyopadhyay, Mamata had complained that despite her repeated pleas, there existed no co-ordination committee in UPA consisting of allies.
