Kapil Sibal defended it on the basis that it was offensive to religious sensibility. Google disclosed that over 99 percent censorship in India makes requests for political reasons and not for religious ones.

Some believe that this law needs to be modified, in order to define the crime with better clarity. In a democratic nation the need to curb internet freedom can only be applied with clear objectives and its vital where the uproar of being charged and acquitted leads to the questioning of proper administration of law and order. In a nation that harbors plurality of thoughts and opinion, the need for the legal system to reflect these values is high.

There are countries where freedom of expression is beyond question. In China Politburo, the executive committee, is fully in charge for the severe curb on the traditional and digital press alike. They are not even allowed to write about corruption. Unlike in India the fight towards corruption has taken the center stage at present. But the freedom of press still remains subjective in many cases. But without offending anyone, one can still use the available advantage and express themselves.
