iPad-aholic: Confessions of 7 Tech CEOs

2. Drew Patterson

CEO at Jetsetter, an online community for travelers that provides its users access to exclusive deals and travel knowledge.

"The first thing I do when I wake up is to grab my iPad and check my email and read through the headlines in The New York Times and Wall Street Journal. But unless I am traveling, I don’t use my iPad much during the day". He types much faster on his iPhone and hence prefers to use the phone for email, and his computer for presentations and meetings.

“I definitely end my night with my iPad, though — I read all my magazines (Economist, New Yorker, New York Magazine), do my New York Times crossword puzzle, surf the Internet and watch The Daily Show.

When I am traveling, my iPad is invaluable. I use it all day for email, surfing the Internet, and reading my magazines (but I still read books on my Kindle). I am not a big app guy, but I use Tripit Pro to organize my travel schedule and Evernote is my favorite — it’s just a great tool. I am not into games (sorry Angry Birds), but I do a little Words With Friends, though I’m not great at it — I think I get too impatient. And I am actually all too happy to turn it off when the flight attendant asks me to.”
