Narendra Modi: A seasoned politician and three-time chief minister, Narendra Modi is the longest-serving chief minister of Gujarat who held the office since 2001. He is known for his astute administrative skills and has a record for being incorruptible.
Modi is credited with develoment of  Gujarat's economy and making it an attractive investment destination for industrialists. Even though there are some controversies in his account and numerous allegations regarding riots in Gujarat, Modi is still the most popular choice for being the Prime Minister of India.

His undying spirit and never say never attitude has made him popular among general public. In spite of claims of a Modi wave, the BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi managed in the second place with 365 minutes (23 percent) of primetime news.

Rahul Gandhi: The Congress party’s vice-president, Rahul Gandhi is in the third spot with just 72 minutes (4.7 percent) devoted to him in the run-up to the Lok Sabha elections. This fourth-generation member of the politically influential Nehru-Gandhi family is currently the next most important leader in the Congress after his mother Sonia Gandhi. 
Gandhi entered politics in the year 2004, contested from his father's former constituency of Amethi in the Lok Sabha elections, and won with a landslide majority.
In the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, the Congress revived itself in Uttar Pradesh winning 21 out of the total 80 seats and the credit for this turnaround was given to Rahul Gandhi.
