Indian Startups On Demand: After Facebook, Now Google Gets A Piece Of It


The founding trios of Impermium were into ‘Yahoo’ prior to founding the Startup in 2010. Being into the Yahoo’s mailing service the founders have experience in dealing with spam, web security and fraudulent account creation. Jamal heads the Bangalore office while Ramarao and Risher are based in California.

The three year old firm received its series of funding worth $9 million from venture capitalist firms including Accel Partners, AOL Ventures, Charles River Ventures and Highland Capital Partners.

In an interview to Times Of India early last year, the CEO of the company said that they had built a number of services that worked as a risk-determination system. Imperimum calculates the severity of the risk based on parameters like where you accessed the account from, the device software and historical usage pattern of the links you're posting.

Impermium claims of a rich client base scoring 3 million including Tumblr, Pinterest, CNN, ESPN, Typepad and Washington Post.
