Dirty Picture, released in the year 2011 gave bollywood one of the finest actresses ever, Vidya Balan and it helped her grab the national Award for best Actress.

The movie was based on the life of one of the controversial South Indian actress Silk Smitha. When the discussions of the movie were going on, Smitha’s brother V Naga Vara Prasad sent a legal notice to producer Ekta Kapoor for making the film without the consent of Smitha’s family. He was also against the concept of portraying Smitha in an obscene manner.

"We came to know through TV channels and newspaper reports that The Dirty Picture portrays my sister in a rather obscene way. Ekta Kapoor is making the film with Vidya Balan in the lead role. Neither the producer nor the director contacted us (the family). What right do the producer and the director have to make this film, without the family's consent?’’, he told the Mumbai Mirror.

But, Prasad’a petition was dismissed by Andhra high court.
