High demand for Smartphones
Indian consumers have always preferred value for money over exclusivity. Smartphones that provide both telephonic services and applications are sold more in the Indian market than the tablets which are just a portable replacement of computers. A research by Gartner Inc. reveals that India sold about 18.5 Million Smartphones in 2011 compared to a mere 250,000 tablets.
