NEW DELHI: i2 Technologies Inc, a provider of closed-loop supply chain management solutions and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), have announced a strategic global OEM partnership to jointly market i2’s Master Data Management (MDM) solution for the retail, manufacturing, CPG, high tech, telecommunications, and financial services industries. i2 MDM is designed to help synchronize a company’s master data including product, customer, and vendor data across its disparate IT systems, businesses and geographies. Additionally, it helps to coordinate and consolidate the master data contained in thousands of individual spreadsheets to ensure consistency and currency of data throughout the enterprise. The need for synchronizing master data is pervasive across all industries and becomes increasingly critical for large-sized companies. As a strategic global OEM partner for i2, TCS will not only resell i2’s MDM solution world-wide, but will invest its research and development to extend it into industries where i2 has not traditionally focused, including Financial Services. "We are committed to delivering value to our customer base and we believe this agreement with i2 will help us tackle the chronic issue of disconnected master data to enable complete visibility across the enterprise," says N Chandrasekaran, head of global operations, TCS. "This solution solves one of the most wide spread problems facing several corporations worldwide." "TCS has expertise across various industries and will expand i2’s reach into industries where we have not traditionally focused," says Pallab Chatterjee, i2 president, Solutions Operations. "We believe i2 MDM solves a problem facing just about every company in every vertical market while providing companies with a rapidly deployable solution that leverages their existing technology investments while allowing for future growth."
