In North India: In North India, people celebrate Dussehra with Ramlila mela. During Ramlila, the scenes from Lord Rama's life are depicted, where they especially show the reunion of Ram and his brother Bharat, and the destruction of the demon Ravan. In Delhi and other neighboring states, huge effigies of Ravana, his brother Kumbhkaran and Meghanath are burnt in Ramlila mela which is organized by different communities. In Himachal Pradesh's Kulu Valley, grand processions of more than hundred village deities are brought to maidan to pay respect to the reigning deity of the place Raghunathji. Ramlila is the next major attraction of Kulu Dusshera. In Jammu Kashmir, though the Hindus are in minority, they celebrate pooja at home. During the festival Kashmiris grow barly in earthen pots, as they believe that the growth in this pot is good, there is prosperity throughout the year. In Punjab, people strictly observe Navratri, some Punjabis have only milk for seven days before breaking the fast on ashtami or navami. They worship Durga Ma and do the arti at home. At the end of the devotees feed beggars or worship little girls who spell the Shakti of the Mother Goddess.
