Cognizant Heftiest On Lobbying, Spends $1.95 Million Last Year

"Indian IT firms need to invest more money, time and resources to lobby lawmakers in the US. They need to work smart and narrate their success story in the United States," said Robinder Sachdev, founder president of Imagindia Institute, an independent think-tank that analyses Indo-US relations. "TCS, for instance, set up centres and created jobs in New York, from where Hillary Clinton contests. These efforts pay off but there's still a lot more to do as Indian IT firms are at a disadvantage compared to the US-based firms.", as has been reported by Indiatimes.com.

The United States is in fact a contributor of over sixty percent of the total export revenues in the IT sector and is known to being the largest market for the IT industry in India.

"Cognizant may have spent the highest amount as they have many different centres within the US," said Som Mittal, president, Nasscom. "Nasscom has spent much more than $115,000 on lobbying last year. It goes beyond talking to lawmakers and involves engaging with various communities to share perspectives on issues, including outsourcing.", as reported by the indiatimes.com.
