Car Of The Week: Mahindra Verito Vibe

Engine:

Verito Vibe is available in three variants - D2, D4 and D6, all diesel. The 1.5 litre Renault engine, which produces 65PS, has already proven its efficiency in the Verito itself. But surprisingly it comes with a mileage of 20.8 kmpl, which is a bit lower than the sedan version.

Most of the features including electrically adjustable rear view mirror, rear defogger, ABS, airbags and more are limited to the high end version D6. It also gets a good looking alloy wheel.

Pricing:

The price for Vibe range from Rs 5.63 lakh for the base model to Rs 6.49 lakh for the high end D6, ex-showroom Mumbai.

Meanwhile, Mahindra’s share in the SUV segment fell to 48 percent in FY13 from 56 percent in FY12, according to industry body SIAM. In the car market, it had a share of just about 1 percent. But with the new hatch back, the company is hoping to lure the young generation.
