"There is a high level of interest in cinema, in intelligent conversations and knowledge. It`s one of the most leading states of the country, so I am very proud to be the brand ambassador. I will take it with as much responsibility as I give to everything else I do," SRK added.

The former red colored state is changing to Blue and White to give West Bengal a facelift. The state buildings, infrastructure and even the private houses are requested to follow the theme. Transport Minister Madan Mitra added to this by saying, “We will have blue and white taxis soon”.

But the question raised that whether SRK is an acceptable option or being the image of Bengali culture or not? The day when the announcement was made, that is on 13th Feb, SRK called West Bengal as his second home. Will it be only in papers to show off or really fruitful for states’ development, only time will tell?

Now unlike Gujarat, West Bengal too will have a ambassador to promote the state. After Big B being the face of Gujarat tourism and now SRK following the footsteps, one thing is much clear that all states are adopting this ambassador strategy as a promotional tool.
