Busy Indians Turn To Apps For Healthcare Advice


Health Magic is a web based healthcare advisory service which is in business since last three years. It allows users to post queries related to diseases and disorders and choose a doctor of their choice and get advice on all feasible treatments. The company founder Kunal Sinha, a former IBM employee released a free Android app six month ago and is now planning to launch an iPhone app by Christmas.
Health Magic draws over 65,000 estimated users daily and about a quarter of them use mobile phones to access healthcare services. The mobile app of Health Magic has recorded ten thousand downloads on the Android store and has plans to launch it in the oversea markets soon. Sinha said, “This technology is aimed at people who do not find time to visit hospitals. The mobile app is great for a user who wants advice on toothache at 11 pm,” as reported by ET Bureau.

Mediangels launched by facial plastic surgeons Debraj Shome and Arbinder Singal from Mumbai, is a technological healthcare firm which offers a portal for people to share photographs, documents and videos related to their health. The company is coming up with an app to access these services on mobile. Shome, “It's a lot more convenient to connect on a virtual platform, when everyone has less and less time.”
