Incentivise Pharma Sector The Central government needs to incentivize the pharma sector to increase the superior spending in research and development and also to lower the taxes and duties on life saving drugs and active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) to offer growth to the industry. Besides this, the pharma industry also needs stronger export inducement on drug exports with the aim to compete with China in the Union Budget. With research obsessed business budding as the business model for the pharma industry, the firms have inclined for the embracing of incentive driven approach to strengthen the spending in R&D activities.
