Taslima Nasreen's book gave rise to serious tensions in communist-controlled West Bengal in 2003. The book was banned sensing fears for religious tensions. Bangladeshi author was exiled from the country as her several books were banned and found shelter in India. She faced several death threats. Though the book was banned by the state government, it was later revoked by the court. "Dwikhondito" is a part of Taslima's multi-volume autobiography
