3. Sarah Chayes:

Sarah is a reporter turned activist who travelled all the way from Massachusetts to Kandahar, Afghanistan. She was a Harvard graduate who was working as a Paris based correspondent for National Public Radio. During her service as a correspondent over there she agreed to stay at Afghanistan for a certain period of time after the 9/11 attack in the United States. During her service Afghanistan, she was very upset by the status of Afghan people by seeing their struggles. Finally she ended up in staying back in Afghanistan to help them to rebuild Afghanistan which was destroyed by Taliban during their rule. She set up a cooperative named ‘Arghand’ in 2005 in Afghanistan which is establish to promote their own local crops.
