The unpleasant development was welcomed with strong resistance from the political establishment of the country, tourism and the hospitality sector. As the country's tourism season set to hit its peak from October to February, the government is extremely concerned about these travel advisories. The Tourism Ministry termed this as a deliberate attempt to keep tourists away and defame India. The Ministry said it will work with the Ministry of External Affairs to take up the issue with the countries. Nearly 35 percent of India's annual foreign tourist arrivals are from these five countries and with such a negative advisory, country's airlines and hotel industries are expecting a negative impact during this festival season.
