Fremont: An Indian American Zeyba rahman made a recognition at the Fes Festival of World Sacred Music with her talk that had a distinctively Indian ring to it. Rehman introduced the Myraid music concert at the Grand Bab Makina where the 10 day music festival was held in the ancient city of Fes. Rehman spoke about Senegalese musician Youssou N'dour and his Sufi muse. Rehman has lived in New York since she was 13. She has an Indian identity. She has developed and produced several award winning narrative and documentary films such as "Madness of the Day," "Early Cabbage" and "Sawt-e-Sarmad - the sound that intoxicates man," a visual and aural interpretation of the Fes Festival of World Sacred Music. Her projects apparently have been on performing arts. Her inspiration has been the idea of using culture as a binding force. As an artistic director with the group US Regional Arts Organizations, Rehman is working on launching a cultural engagement program that will try and expand the dialogue between small to mid-sized American communities and people and cultures of countries that they have little access to. This cultural program is known as "Caravanserai: A place where cultures meet."
